About Kim

Hi, thank you for visiting thekimfitway

My name is Kimberley, but I go by Kim, and I’m a skeleton athlete from the Isle of Wight. My goal is to win a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Prior to trying skeleton I used to compete nationally and internationally at long jump (athletics).  I have two degrees and worked as an exercise physiologist in high performance sport prior to a sabbatical to pursue my own sporting goals. Skeleton is a winter sliding sport where the athlete slides on a sled down an icy track (the same on as bobsleigh) head first inches from the ice, reaching speeds of around 120 kph. Check out some of my videos on YouTube.

Why KimFit?

I am a full-time athlete which makes it impossible to continue with my career as a sport scientist; athletes need reliable support staff not ones who go aboard for five months of the year. KimFit allows me to continue to support people with health, fitness and performance. The aim of KimFit is to educate, empower and energise people so that fitness becomes part of their lifestyle like it is mine. I cannot imagine life without exercise; it gives me so much. Simplifying health and fitness is a must; there is so much confusion which makes it hard to know where to start. I also need to make an income to support myself and this is what I am trained to do; it just makes sense!

I live in Bath but travel the world. So as well as personal training I offer online programmes, my Get Fabulous programme is an 8-week training programme designed for home or gym workouts.  I also write gym and endurance training programmes to help people achieve their race goals.

I wholeheartedly believe in the powerful benefits of exercise in terms of mortality and quality of life. I do not believe in fads or ‘quick fixes’. I run KimFit under the values of honesty, fun, ambition, support and inspire. My pledge to you as your PT or coach is to always ‘keep it real’ and to integrate exercise into your life in a sustainable manner. My goal is to inspire and empower clients to integrate exercise into their day to day life and for it to become something you look forward to, an act of self-love.

I hold the following qualifications:

  • Active IQ Level 2 fitness instructor
  • Active IQ Level 3 personal trainer
  • BSc Sport and Exercise science – University of Bath
  • MSc Exercise Physiology – Loughborough University
  • BASES accredited sport scientist
  • First Aid in Sport
  • ISAK (body composition)
